gorman organic
gorman organic is nice to the planet because it uses the following ...
organic certified yarnsorganic certified yarns ... This means no chemicals or pesticides are used during farming. Gorman use organic cotton which is usually sourced from turke and india, as well as Australian merino wool. It’s better for the farmers and the soil and you.
sustainable fibres sustainable fibres ... consideration is given to land usage, water consumption and milling techniques. A great example right now is TENCEL, which was introduced at gorman in SS09. A plant fibre made from farmed eucalyptus trees, TENCEL® is a high fibre yield, meaning a little bit goes a long way. the eco-friendly manufacturing process is mechanical, not chemical, using a closed loop production cycle. and to top it off, TENCEL® uses 20% less water than cotton to grow.
recycled fibres ...recycled fibres ... old becomes new again. gorman is currently trying out recycled polyester fibre made from recycled PET bottles. This will be the first recycled fibre used by the brand and is planned to debut in Winter 2011.
